Small Pet Select Ultra Premium Hemp Hurd is the perfect bedding for backyard chickens, offering superior absorption, odor control, and sustainability. Made from 100% organically grown hemp, it soaks up four to five times more moisture than pine shavings, keeping coops drier and fresher for longer. Dedusted three times, it is 99% dust-free, reducing respiratory risks for both chickens and their owners. Its light color makes it easy to monitor flock health by spotting changes in waste. Fully compostable and biodegradable, this eco-friendly bedding supports a cleaner environment while providing a soft, comfortable, and highly effective solution for poultry care.

The hemp hurd soaks up way more than the pine shavings I used before, and the coop barely smells after a week. My hens scratch around in it constantly, and it breaks down fast in the compost pile too.

I was bracing for the usual dusty mess when I swapped the coop bedding, but this hemp hurd actually stays put. The organic stalks soak up the morning droppings without that ammonia sting hitting me in the face, and it's held up through a full week of rain without turning to sludge.

Took me a while to actually clean the coop out this week, and I was shocked at how little dust kicked up when I scooped the hemp hurd. The stalks are thick enough that they don't break down into mush like the pine shavings I used before, so the floor stayed fluffy right up until I changed it.
